  48. 1.4 SUBMITTALS

  70. 1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

  73.         temperature will not exceed 90 degrees F. (32 degrees C)

  75.     B.  Handle material in manner that will prevent damage to
  76.         finished surfaces.  Do not install scratched or damaged
  77.         components.

  104. 2.2 MATERIALS

  106.     A.  Glass Block Support Grid:  Factory assembled, extruded
  107.         aluminum two-way T-bar grid, sized to fit glass block
  108.         with one block to a module, and hollow perimeter frame
  109.         with predrilled fastener holes.
  110.         1.  Aluminum:  ASTM B 221, 6063-T6 or 6463-T6 alloy.
  111.         2.  Finish:  As selected by Architect from manufacturer's
  112.             standard finishes.

  114.     B.  Glass Block:  Partially evacuated hollow units, 7-3/4
  115.         inches (196 mm) square by 3-1/8 inches (79 mm) thick.

  125.         (1.5 mm) or 3/32 inch (2.5 mm) thick.

  130.     E.  Accessories:  Provide all sealants, flashings, anchors,
  131.         fasteners, and other items necessary for complete weather-

  135. PART 3  EXECUTION

  137. 3.1 EXAMINATION
  138.  
  139.     A.  Verify applicable field dimensions and adjust as
  140.         necessary to accommodate frame.
  141.  
  142.     B.  Examine supporting structure and correct any conditions
  143.         that are not in accordance with manufacturer's
  144.         installation instructions.
  145.  
  146. 3.2 INSTALLATION
  147.  
  148.     A.  Install grid system and glass block according to
  149.         manufacturer's instructions.
  150.  
  151.     B.  Apply continuous sealant bead to back of window Z-bar.
  152.  
  153.     C.  Place frame in rough opening and adjust until plumb and
  154.         level.  Fasten frame in place using screws or nails and
  155.         predrilled holes.
  156.  
  157.     D.  Adhere foam tape to entire perimeter of each glass block
  158.         and insert glass block into grid from exterior side so
  159.         that block is pressed against T-bar without rolling back
  160.         foam tape.
  161.  
  162.     E.  Apply sealant around exterior face of glass block
  163.         completely filling channel.  Tool sealant flush with
  164.         surface.

  166.     F.  Apply sealant between perimeter frame and adjoining
  167.         construction.

  169. 3.3 CLEANING
  170.  
  171.     A.  Clean exposed surfaces of aluminum grid with clean, soft
  172.         cloth and mild hand soap using gentle rubbing action.  Do
  173.         not use abrasive or solvent type cleaners, detergents, or
  174.         paint removers.
  175.  
  176.     B.  Remove labels from glass block and clean with soft cloth
  177.         and water.

  179. 3.4 PROTECTION
  180.  
  181.     A.  After installation, protect installed work from damage
  182.         caused by subsequent operations at project site.
